'Food for fines' time at libraries

The 19th annual Food for Fines drive at Whitman County library began Friday and will continue through Feb. 28 at all 14 library branches. This program allows library patrons to bring nonperishable food and toiletry items into any branch of Whitman County Library and waive up to $10 in outstanding fines.

Those who do not have fines are also encouraged to make a contribution. All items will be given to the food bank to be used in the community where they were collected.
