Robins flock to devour berries

A swarm of robins made their annual stop at the yard of Warren and Bonnie Smith last Friday to harvest berries from a Mountain Ash tree along the 700 block of S. Mill Street in Colfax. The ash tree was loaded with berries which the robins knocked to the ground and devoured. Bonnie Smith said robins usually arrive earlier in the winter. It took them approximately six hours to knock off the berries and eat them off the snow-covered lawn.
