He was born December 2, 1938, in Carleton, Nebraska, to Roger and Crystal Spafford Stanard. The family moved to Spokane and Glen graduated from Central Valley High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a driver/chauffeur between the Korean and Vietnam eras.
He married Nancy Sullivan on July 4, 1973, in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. They made their home in Colfax and Glen worked as a contractor and carpet layer for many, many years. He worked alongside his sons, Jay and Robin, mostly. He also taught dance lessons with his wife, Nancy.
Glen really loved to golf and played any chance he could. He liked playing poker at the Hyde Out or going to the Rosauers' coffee group too. He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Colfax; son, Robin Stanard of Spokane; two granddaughters, Ashton and Jordan both of Spokane; and daughter-in-law, Arla Stanard of Steptoe. Glen was preceded in death by a son, Jay; and two brothers, Dale and Jerry. On-line guest book is at http://www.bruningfuneralhome.com.
