She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Al Broeckel; her daughter, Janet (Vince) Trantolo; grandsons, Landry and Brady of New York; son, John (Camille) of Jacksonville, Ore .; daughter, JoAnn (Brian) Elrod; grandchildren Lauren and Aiden of Bellevue, plus numerous nieces and nephews, friends and relatives, many who live in the LaCrosse area where she grew up on her parents’, the late John and Ida Sather, farm. Burial will be in the Dusty Cemetery at a later date.

Other current and former Whitman County residents who attended were her sisters-in-law Jeanette Nolan of Colfax, Patty Wieber of Spokane, nephew and nieces Greg and Gwen Nolan of Colfax, Pam Nolan-Beasley of Waitsburg; relatives Tony and Denise Broeckel Kendall of Tacoma, and former neighbor Norm Aune of Puyallup.

Sunday afternoon, Broeckel visited with long-time friends Ken and Sheila Wagoner at their home in Steilacoom. That evening, she, Patty Wieber and Denise Broeckel Kendall enjoyed world famous pizza at the Clover Leaf Tavern in Tacoma.
