Perkins spring cleanup party

More than 30 members of the Mockonema 4H club and several parents and friends gather for a work party at the Perkins House garden Sunday. Leader Rob Lustig and Theresa Dale of the Perkins House organized this event. First, the weather cooperated. Next, there were plenty of rakes, wheelbarrows and enthusiasm. And finally, there were plenty of cookies to keep the young participants motivated. Tours of the Perkins House were also enjoyed by the worker volunteers and their families. Major clearing of yard debris and uncovering of rock to replace old brick in garden beds have all contributed to a major improvement in the yard.
