After being rained out of a league double with Liberty Saturday, Colfax baseball player rolled out a 10-0 shutout Tuesday in a non-league round at Pullman. The Bulldogs stacked 13 hits against the Pirates while a cluster of Colfax pitchers held the hosts to just four hits in the shutout.
Coach Scott Parrish essentially ran down the Colfax battery to keep arms in turn for the tough league double the Bulldogs will face with Asotin.
Nate Akesson, Kelan Becker, Blake Bodey, Isaiah Buri, and Layne Gingerich all took a turn on the mound in throwing the four hitter.
Colfax posted a 4-0 lead after four innings, added one in the fifth and stacked five more runs in the last two innings.
Nate Akesson doubled and tripled; Gingerich tripled and Becker rapped a double for the top Colfax hits.
Gingerich, Eric Akesson and Nate Akesson each had three of the 13 Colfax hits.
Jace Gwinn started on the mound for the Pirates and took the loss.
Colfax is now 9-2 in the season and undefeated in league play.
