Cemetery work day booked

A work day has been scheduled at the Dusty Cemetery beginning at 7:30 a.m. Monday, May 20. Please bring weed eaters, shovels, rakes, etc.

At Dusty B.B. Club's annual guest luncheon May 8 in the Jones Schoolhouse at the Palouse Empire Fairground, Keith and Julie Niehenke and sons Rye and Cash provided the musical entertainment. The luncheon was catered by Fonk’s and the dessert was made by Liz Appel. Meetings will resume in October.

Dick and Helen Appel flew to Portland to see their grandson, Scott Stavig, graduate from W.S.U. Vancouver. While there, they stayed with their daughter and her husband, Deb and Bob Stavig.

Loren Scaggs attended the “Tapestry” vocal performance in Pullman last week. Linda Hennigar and Diane Monson are members of the group.

Jasmin Watson, daughter of Marc and Judy Watson, is a member of the LaCrosse FFA Meats Team which placed first at state and qualified for nationals. Other team members include T.J. Harder – first, Trey Fleming – fourth, Ty Harder – fifth and Alynn Harder – ninth. Girl’s Marketing included Alynn Harder, Lauren Stubbs and Gen McGregor. Lauren Stubbs earned a first place in extemporaneous speaking. The boys’ marketing team of Trey Fleming, T.J. Harder and Ty Harder also placed sixth at state. Lisa Baser is the Ag. teacher/FFA advisor.

Saturday visitors at the home of Karen Broeckel were former LaCrosse classmate, Carmi Cummings Thompson and Jim McCauley, who had been visiting and conducting business in Dayton and were on their way to their home in Victor, Mont.
