Georgia Cummings

Georgia Cummings, 98, died May 21, 2019, at Whitman Health and Rehabilitation in Colfax where she had lived for the past three months. She previously resided at LaDow Court in Garfield for the past five years.

In accordance with her request, a public service will not be conducted.

Born April 13, 1921, in Seattle, to Les and Orpha Baughman Brundage, she moved with her family to the Tekoa area and attended elementary school in Tekoa.

Georgia and Milton M. Cummings were married May 24, 1941, at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and the couple made their home in Tekoa where Mr. Cummings worked as a carpenter. During her lifetime, Georgia was a homemaker, worked in the kitchen at Tekoa Care Center and worked for several years at Seeds doing planting for the company.

Her husband died in 2001.

Georgia enjoyed picking huckleberries, and making afghans for her friends and family.

Survivors include her two sons, Les Cummings and Ken Cummings, both of Tekoa; four grandchildren, and sister, Alberta Krell, Fairfield.
