Colfax softball players finished the season with a 1-2 run at Yakima to fall short of the trophy round.
The Bulldogs started the run at Gateway Complex with a marathon 20-18 win over Ocosta in the first round. The opener featured a total of 38 hits for both sides. Colfax scored three runs in the last inning to pull out the win after Ocasta rallied for eight runs in the sixth inning.
Helina Hahn hit for the cycle with a home run, triple, double and single, and Perry Imler tripled, doubled and singled. Anni Cox had four hits with a double.
The win put the Bulldogs against Kittitas/ Thorp in the quarterfinal Friday night and the Coyotes looped five runs each in the fifth and sixth inning for a 13-3 lead, which shut the game down on the 10-run rule.
Kittitas had 16 hits in the game and the Bulldogs five with Imler tagging a double for the lone extra-base hit.
Friday Harbor dropped Colfax 12-2 in the Saturday elimination game to end the Bulldogs’ season. A single by Jorja Koerner was the lone Colfax hit.
Friday Harbor posted a 9-2 lead after three innings and the game ended in five innings, again on the 10-run rule.
Friday Harbor was bumped by the NE’s Chewelah in the next elimination round and the Cougars stopped Liberty.
Northwest Christian and Chewelah finished out in an all-NE game for third place with the Crusaders positing an 8-3 lead.
Adna edged Pe Ell/Willipa Valley Titans 9-7 in the 2B title game.
