A celebration of the life of Dolores Reilly, 88, was Wednesday, June 19, at La Dow Court at Garfield. A family graveside service was conducted.
She died in Garfield June 16, 2019.
Born Nov. 25, 1930, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago, Ill., to Peter J. and Billie Richter Reilly, she graduated from Saint Dorothy Elementary School in Chicago, Mercy High School in Chicago in 1948 and College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Ill., with an associates degree in general studies.
Dolores and Joseph Costello were married in 1949 and lived in the Chicago area. As the children grew older, Dolores began working as an executive assistant, which she continued until 1972.
In 1972, she moved with then husband, Herbert Nector, to San Diego and started a real estate company, a commercial real estate investment company, a rental placement company, and the acting company Studio IV.
She enjoyed all of the arts, did oil painting and became an award-winning set designer. She traveled extensively, including several trips to Europe and China.
Survivors include her brother, Pete Reilly, Eugene, Ore .; daughters Carol Young, Santa Cruz, Calif., and Cathleen Young, Garfield, and her son Patrik Ryan of Lancaster, Calif .; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one nephew; one great-niece, and one great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph Costello of Boulder Hill, Ill .; and her second husband Herbert Nector of San Diego, Calif.
