Hinnenkamp earns Cornish fine arts degree

Kimberly Hinnenkamp of Colfax graduated from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in May.

On opening night of the Cornish College of the Arts fine arts exhibition, she sold many of her one-of-a-kind food sculpture pieces and was contacted by the Tacoma Art Museum to participate in an experimental project pairing glass and non-glass artists.

She has also been contacted by the Food Art Collection gallery in Seattle to open a solo exhibition in the near future and will have several sculpture pieces on display in the gallery at The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center for a one-year period. She will also have a couple of pieces on display for Bellwether in September at the Bellevue Art Museum, and one piece in the Cornish Alumni Gallery.

She is now working at Morningside Academy in Seattle as a lead and at Hutchinson center installing her art and works of some of her classmates that were chosen to be on display there.

Hinnenkamp graduated from Colfax High School in 2015. For her senior project she painted a large trout in the river channel near Rosauer’s. She is the daughter of John and Kristie Hinnenkamp, Colfax.
