Wayne Henning of Thornton was recently awarded a Quilt of Valor during a presentation attended by his family and friends. Henning served with the Army Combat Engineers and was stationed in Vietnam and Cambodia in 1969-1970. He achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant and was awarded a Bronze Star. The Quilt of Valor Foundation is a volunteer organization whose mission is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing quilts. Henning's quilt was made and presented by members of the Greater Spokane QOV. A 1962 graduate of Rosalia High School, Henning earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Whitworth University.
