Wylie will debut new fair grandstand

Wylie and the Wild West has been booked to perform at the Palouse Empire Fair after the Friday night rodeo performance Sept. 6. Gustafson and his band will play in front of the fair’s new grandstand which will be dedicated just before the rodeo performance.

The group’s performance was arranged by the Palouse Empire Fair Foundation in the last two days. Sponsors of the performance are the Jess Auto Family in Pullman and Jones Truck and Implement at Colfax.

The group is headed by Wylie Gustafson, former Dusty resident from Conrad, Mont.

Gustafson and his band have been performing for 30 years. He has made more than 50 guest appearances and they have performed in China, Australia, Japan, Russia, Europe and South America.

He has recorded 22 CDs with his latest one titled “2000 miles from Nashville.”

Also among his credits is his patented “Yahoo” which was used by Yahoo for its advertising campaign.

Gustafson is also a cutting horse and roping enthusiast and has won regional and national titles in the National Cutting Horse Association.

He still tends livestock on Cross Three Quarter Horse ranch near Conrad, Mont.
