Ronald Taylor

Ronald Vincent “Ron” Taylor, 79, of Colfax, died August 11, 2019, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington.

Ron was born Feb. 19, 1940, to Harry & Mary Taylor in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He spent his early childhood in Montana, Oklahoma and Texas, finally moving to the Cheney area where he graduated from Cheney High School in 1958. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and attended E.W.U.

In 1966, Ron married Annette Davis in Deer Park, Wash. They moved to Colfax for Ron to become owner/operator of Colfax Meat Packing in 1971. Ron had many talents and interests including shooting, Civil War history, coin collecting and the general pursuit of knowledge. He had a vast store of books on many subjects. Ron was a devout Catholic, greatly loved and respected by his family and friends and will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife Annette and his four children: Blaise, Justin, Rhani and Erin; 15 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Carole; two grandsons, Mylze and Jude; and by his daughter Tanya, who passed away earlier this year.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary was Monday evening, Aug. 19th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Colfax. His Funeral Mass was offered at St. Patrick’s on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. on Aug. 20th. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax, Wash., has been entrusted with arrangements.
