RTOP issues open call audition

Regional Theatre of the Palouse will present the Broadway hit “Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical!” Open auditions will be Sept. 11 from 6:30 - 9 p.m. at RTOP, Pullman’s theatre located at 122 N Grand Ave in Pullman.

The Musical is the Tony Award-winning masterpiece inspired by Roald Dahl. With script by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda has won 47 international awards and continues to thrill sold-out audiences of all ages.

With select roles cast, RTOP is seeking local adult talent to play: Mrs. Phelps, Rodolfo, The Escapologist, The Acrobat, The Doctor and a Children’s Entertainer. Detailed character descriptions can be found at: https://www.rtoptheatre.org/auditions.

For the audition, please prepare 16-32 bars of a song (30 seconds to a minute) in the style of Matilda. There will be an accompanist as well as a way to play an accompaniment track. Please bring either legible sheet music or an accompaniment/backing track.

Please fill out an audition form legibly, which can be found online at rtoptheatre.org. For those who cannot make the audition dates, video submissions are accepted; please email your audition tape to: director@rtoptheatre.org.

Regional Theatre of the Palouse has been presenting quality theatre on the Palouse since 2007 and has relied on the talents of the Pullman locals to present their shows. If you would like to participate, please come out and support Regional Theatre of the Palouse by auditioning.
