Deputies are now searching for a Dillon Armstrong, 19, the driver of a vehicle in which one quarter pound of methamphetamine was found during a search early Sept. 11 in Pullman. Sheriff Brett Myers reported the packaged methamphetamine was found in a small safe located in the back of the car.
When officers started their search of the car, they lacked probable cause to arrest Armstrong, and he was allowed to leave the scene before the alleged discovery of the drug evidence, according to the sheriff’s report.
Sheriff Myers said Armstrong is believed to be residing with friends in the Lewiston/Clarkston area.
At approximately 1 a.m. Sept. 11, Armstrong was stopped while driving a car on Stadium Way in Pullman. After the stop both he and a passenger appeared to be under the influence of narcotics use, and Armstong allegedly admitted they had a meth pipe in the vehicle. Officers obtained a warrant to search the car, but lacking evidence at that time to detain Armstrong, they allowed him to leave the scene.
