The WSU cross country team hosted the Washington State Cougar Classic Sept. 13 at Colfax Golf Club with 10 men's and eight women's teams competing.

James Miwaura, sophomore from Gonzaga, took first for the men in 24:07 on the 8-kilometer course. His team also finished first, followed by WSU and Idaho. A total of 116 runners ran the men's race.

For the women, Gonzaga junior Claire Manley won in 21:04.8. Her team took second to WSU. Idaho finished third. A total of 100 runners competed in the six-kilometer race.
