Hospital board okays Whitman Medical Clinic acquisition plan

Whitman Hospital District Board at their Wednesday night meeting authorized hospital CEO Hank Hanigan to sign the agreement for the hospital to acquire the assets and liabilities of Whitman Medical Clinic. He was also authorized to sign a professional services agreement for doctors and practitioners who will continue to practice at the clinic, according to Bruce Ensley, attorney for the board.

Actual signing of the agreement is pending, although both sides aim to have it done Oct. 1.

Hanigan Tuesday told the Gazette both sides believe the agreement will be finalized that morning.
