The Southeast 1B volleyball standings are Pomeroy still on top at 10-0, followed by Oakesdale at 10-1 – their one loss to Pomeroy - Colton (6-5), St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse (5-6), Touchet (4-7), Garfield/Palouse (3-9), Prescott (0-10).
Colton is 12-6 overall, after being swept at home Tuesday by Pomeroy, 25-14, 25-19, 25-21.
Josie Schultheis had 18 digs for the Wildcats and Rylee Vining 17 assists.
Colton won at Prescott Oct. 17 in a three-game sweep.
Pomeroy will meet second-place Oakesdale at Oakesdale Thursday to decide the regular season title.
The Southeast 1B league will have two slots to the state tournament this year.
"Our league is competitive, it could go 1, 2, 3, 4 at state," said St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse Coach Jenn Johnson.
Johnson's Eagles team beat Garfield/Palouse Tuesday in four games for senior night at St. John.
The scores were 25-23, 25-6, 20-25 and 20-17.
Ashlynn Archer led with 19 kills and 15 blocks while Addisen Becker had 24 digs and two aces. Roxy Dickerson added 24 assists and five kills. Colby Swannack contributed 12 blocks on the night.
The win secured the Eagles the no. 4 seed at the four-team Southeast 1B district tournament beginning Nov. 6. The top three will be Pomeroy, Oakesdale and Colton.
Last Thursday, Oct. 17, SJEL met the league-leading Pirates at home, losing 20-25, 18-25, 15-25.
Pomeroy recorded no blocks in the entire match.
"We can beat them, we have the talent to beat them," said Johnson.
Archer led the team with nine blocks, six kills and two aces while Roxy Dickerson had 11 assists, Rachel Larsen added nine digs.
