UMC potato bar toaid champlain
Colfax United Methodist Church will host a potato bar luncheon to benefit the Whitman County Chaplaincy Nov. 7 at noon.
Church volunteers will prepare a potato bar menu.
Proceeds will be donated to the chaplaincy program which enables the chaplain to assist emergency personnel and victims in times of crisis.
Pullman CC books Gaffney
Michael Gaffney, acting director for WSU Extension, will talk on to the Land Grant University mission and extension from the 1862 Morrill Act at the Pullman Chamber of Commerce luncheon Nov. 12 from noon to 1 p.m. at Gladish Center. Cost is $18 per person or $15 for chamber members. Reservations are required by Nov. 8 at noon by calling 509-334-3565.
Cup O’ Joe
Brian Points, of Points Consulting, will discuss “Quad Cities Shared Economy: Connecting & Expanding Our Opportunities” at the next Cup O’ Joe on the Palouse at Columbia Bank in Pullman Nov. 6, from 10 to 11 a.m. He will share information which acquired from the housing assessment study completed over the last year in collaboration with a handful of other entities. Points has more than 13 years experience helping resolve complex economic and workforce issues.
Cup O’ Joe is an interactive business support coffee group that offers small businesses the opportunity to network, share information and receive technical support. Coffee and refreshments provided.

Athenaeum
Athenaeum club’s fall business meeting was at St. Patrick’s Oct. 18 with Cheryl Lothespeich and Linda Marler as hostesses.
They welcomed Cheryl Jones to the club. Marilyn Warder reported on Bill O’Reilly Jr., an American journalist, best selling author and former television host.
Next meeting will be Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. at the Methodist Church.
