Timberwolves fall at Lyle, 46-0
The second half began Friday, Nov. 15, and, following a Tekoa/Rosalia turnover on downs, Lyle/Wishram – playing on their home field in a 1B playoff football game – handed the ball to no. 20, Brandon Montoya, who took it low and quick for 51 yards and a touchdown, 38-0.
On Tekoa/Rosalia’s next possession, L/W recovered a fumble on T/R’s 42 yard-line.
“Cougars, Cougars!” came the call-and-response from the other sideline.
A long throw for L/W followed, before a Montoya run and a Montoya-to-another for a reverse and 44-0.
The Cougars advance to the eight-team state 1B bracket as a no. 5 seed, to play no. 4 Entiat Nov. 23 at Quincy High School.
Tekoa/Rosalia’s season ended with a record of 8-3 overall, 6-1 league.

Colton 0
Playing at Odessa for a shot to advance to the state 1B football playoffs, Colton trailed 46-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Odessa advanced as the state no. 1 seed, to play no. 8 Selkirk Nov. 22 at Quincy High School.
The championship game will be Dec. 7 in Tacoma.
Colton finished the year with a 4-6 overall record, 4-4 in league.
