Serving Whitman County since 1877
Colter’s Creek Winery and Vineyards owners Mike Pearson and Melissa Sanborn will be the Dec. 3 program of the Washington State University Retirees Association. They will discuss their wine operation and offer tastes to WSU retirees and friends at 1:30 p.m. in the Lewis Alumni Centre.
The company was established in 2007. Husband and wife Pearson and Sanborn found an abandoned vineyard while looking at potential vineyard sites in Idaho. Their goal is to apply their science backgrounds to grow high-quality grapes and to craft good, solid wines from the Lewis-Clark area.
Colter’s Creek has off-site tasting rooms in Julietta and Moscow where customers can taste wines and sample locally grown and produced foods.
WSURA dues of $15 can be paid by check at a monthly program or mailed to Lewis Alumni Centre, Box 646150, Pullman, 99164-6150.
The retirees also award scholarships each year to WSU students. Contributions to that fund can be sent with dues or at any time to alumni center staff.
