Marijuana ordinance project advances in Whitman county

County Public Works Director Mark Storey told county commissioners Monday that the planning commission, which was set to meet again Wednesday night, nears the last stages of its work on a proposed ordinance on marijuana operations.

“They hope to have the final touches done and to provide a recommendation to you within a month or two,” said Storey.

When asked later, he said he believes the commissioners will see it in February.

“The (planning commission) has been asked to take their time and get it right as they can get it,” Storey said.
