Both SJEL teams posted solid wins Tuesday in their season openers at home with Dayton-Waitsburg on the guest list.
The Eagle girls posted a 30-point win, 58-28, with Brooklyn Bailey hitting 15 and Olivia Kjack 13.
Other scorers were were Kyra Holt 4, Hailee Marty 2, Zoe Bailey 9, Drew Curtis-Brewer 7, Ellie Tollett 6 and Bailey Brown 2.
Kjack also had nine rebounds and five assists in the big win.
Megan Forney led DW with 10 points.
Eagle boys rolled out a 59-48 win with Ty Harder hitting 22.
The guests scored 20 points in the first quarter, but SJEL defense rationed them to just 28 points for the balance of the game.
Other scorers for the Eagles were Logan Marconi 2, Doug Stach 6, Pedro Molina-Contreras 5, Dylan Campbell 9, Austin Stanley 4 and Owen Swannack 11.
The Eagles will travel to Reardan Friday and then face Pomeroy next Friday for the start of league play.
