Colfax girls Friday ripped to an early lead in a showdown game at Reardan, but they lost traction in the second half and the Broncos booked a two-point win in overtime. It was the second Bronco win over the Bulldogs in the double league loop on the south side.
Colfax bounced back with a high energy 54-25 crunch over the Upper Columbia Academy Lions who made their debut in the Colfax game Tuesday.
The split for the week leaves the Bulldogs at 6-4 in the league with two tough assignments next week.
They will travel to Ritzville to face a Bronco team which has had their number, and they will host the league leading Liberty Lancers in the last home game next Thursday.

Friday night at Reardan, the Bulldogs roared to a 17-2 lead in the first quarter, but the Indians began to chip away at the early point explosion.
By halftime the Colfax lead had been boiled down to 24-21, and Reardan took their first lead 37-36 at the 6:10 mark in the fourth quarter.
Madalyn Dewey hit a three-pointer to put Reardan up by two points with eight seconds left, but they fouled Asher Cai and she got both toss shots to lock it up a 47-all and send them into overtime.
Reardan scratched out a 55-51 lead up to the last seven seconds of the OT, but Cai zapped another pair of toss shots to cut it to 53-55, and the refs made a call which gave Colfax an in-bounds play from the baseline under their basket with four seconds left.
They put the ball in, and two shots went up and tapped the rim, but didn't drop.
Reardan won, 55-53.
One plus factor for the hosts was the 17-23 overall mark they collected at the toss line. The Bulldogs finished 13-21 from the line.
