Bulldogs wrestlers aim at district slots

Colfax wrestlers will roll to Liberty today for the district elimination, the first step to the state matt classic at the Tacoma Dome. The top four finishers at Liberty today will compete in the regional round next Saturday at Reardan, and the top four finishers at Reardan will earn a state ticket.

Colfax will start with six wrestlers. Five of the entrants earned top seeds at the league meet last Saturday at Ritzville, and if they can prove up on their slot they should be able to extend their season to the following week at Reardan.

Colfax entrants are Joshua Sisk, top seed at 106; Kolby Slate, third seed at 152; Braeden Rogers, 3rd seed at 170; Trentin Ensley, 4th seed at 170; Caden Noha, top seed at 162, and Reagan Noha, unseeded at 195.

For the girls side of the state eliminations, the WIAA consolidates weight class entrants from schools of different sizes. She will compete in the girls eliminations in the 129-pound class beginning Friday at Liberty.
