Public School Parents: take note of two bills being considered without the people’s vote.
Senate Bill 5395/HB2184 would require every public school to teach sex education to all students in grades K-12.
Proponents believe that sex education starting in kindergarten will encourage consensual relationships, deter sexual violence and guard against sexual predators. I really doubt this but if a family does feel it important to discuss at home, then they certainly should.
The decision of when and if to discuss these sensitive issues should remain with the family and not be dictated by government.
I take issue with SB5395 based on general biology and documented genetic science. Excerpts taken from the first paragraph of the SB5395 read, “By September 1, 2021, every public school must provide comprehensive sexual health education… medically and scientifically accurate, age-appropriate and inclusive for all students regardless of their protected class status under chapter 49.60 RCW…”
The left’s ‘medically and scientifically accurate’ is certainly non-medical, politically-correct and an agenda-based push toward terms which include: ze, hir, gender-nonconforming, gender-queer, non-binary etc.. In fact, boys are XY and girls are XX. THAT is ‘medically and scientifically accurate.’
Our children may well grow up gender-confused; not because they don’t know in their hearts if they are girls or boys but because they have been taught from kindergarten to question it.
If you are concerned, call the Legislative Hotline at 1-800-562-6000. Ask your lawmakers to Vote NO on HB2184 and let them know you oppose explicit K-12 sex education.
