Serving Whitman County since 1877
United Way of Whitman County has partnered with Better Health Together to sign up families for affordable Washington Apple Health Insurance Saturday, Feb. 15, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Neill Public Library. Families across Eastern Washington are still struggling to keep up with the rising costs of healthcare.
Washington Apple Health provides free or low-cost comprehensive healthcare coverage to those who qualify, including children who are covered through the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
“A lot of families don’t think they can qualify for the Children’s Health Insurance Program but a family of four making $6,800 a month or less could qualify for CHIP. This would lead to cheaper health insurance for the whole family,” said Vivian Chalardsoontornvatee of Better Health Together.
United Way of Pullman recently changed its name to United Way of Whitman County.
