High winds cause damage

Power outages this weekend were the result of high winds around noon on Sunday, leaving many homes without electricity until about 6 a.m. Monday. A large uprooted tree fell on the roof at Dale and Vicki Broeckel’s home causing extensive damage. The home at the Alkali Flat Arena sustained roof damage with loss of shingles. The wind shear, which lasted less than five minutes, also overturned harrow bed machinery parked in the lot. No other major damage was reported other than downed tree limbs.
