Tovah Brantner named Garfield/Palouse DYW

Tovah Brantner of Palouse was named this year's Distinguished Young Woman of Garfield/Palouse Sunday, March 15, at the Garfield school cafeteria.

Olivia Knauff was chosen first runner-up and Rielee Renne second runner-up.

Brantner received the winning medallion along with $1,650 in scholarship money, with $1,300 going to Knauff and $1,000 to Renne.

Further awards included: $250 to Rachel Meeuwsen for the Spirit Award, $700 to Olivia Knauff for the Scholastic category, $700 to Brantner for the Judges' Interview, $550 to Brantner for Talent, $425 to Renne for Self-Expression and $425 to Rachel Meeuwsen for Fitness.

Tovah is the daughter of Craig and Kelly Brantner. Olivia is the daughter of Cliff and Tonya Knauff and Renne's parents are Andy and Tammy Kivi. The girls are all juniors at Garfield/Palouse High School.

Brantner will go on to participate in the Distinguished Young Women of Washington showcase in Pullman on Aug. 1.
