High fashion at HOTFLASH

PALOUSE – HOTFLASH, a pop-up espresso shop with The Congress in Palouse, went high fashion on May 16 and 17.

The pop-up shop made its first appearance in Palouse on the weekend of The Congress's second birthday, May 10.

"This is our birthday month and since we can't have our party and have everyone here, we thought this, the pop-up shop, would be a good way to celebrate," said Tiana Gregg-Holmes, owner of The Congress.

To continue the celebration all month long, the second pop-up shop requested guest to bring high fashion. All those who showed up, dolled up, had $1 taken off their order and their picture taken for the HOTFLASH hall of fame.

"I feel like when people get dressed up they just feel better," said Gregg-Holmes. "Recently, there's been no reason for people to go out and dress up. It doesn't cost anything to get dressed up and we are giving people the opportunity to do so."

Along with different baked goods, HOTFLASH serves hot or iced coffee, americanos, lattes, doppios, drips and hot chocolates.

Gregg-Holmes said the first pop-up shop went extremely well. She said they had a lot of people come through and were able to do their part to make people happy.

"We appreciate the support from the community during this time with the coronavirus," Gregg-Holmes said.
