A little heaven on earth

Joe Rupe, Colfax Cemetery sexton and groundskeeper has worked for the cemetery for the past five years. Rupe weed eats around more than 10,000 headstones and mows the 21 acres. Rupe does receive assistance from one part-time helper and the occasional volunteer. His job also includes tree trimming, water system repair and maintenance and mower and equipment maintenance and repair.

"He works very hard and tirelessly for the cemetery," said Craig Corbeill, owner of Bruning Funeral Home.
