Serving Whitman County since 1877
The Thrifty Grandmothers shop in Colfax re-opened last week with new restrictions.
Running the same business hours as before, now 20 people are admitted into the store at a given time, masks required, with a 20-minute shopping limit.
Markers have been added to the floor to direct and space traffic.
A table was put in front of the cash register so customers will not be able to get as close to the cashier.
The grandmothers met with County Health Director Troy Henderson before re-opening to decide how to proceed.
Hours are Tuesdays and Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The shop has been closed since March, though the non-profit organization still had to monitor donations left at the back door – for which signs are posted not to leave donations outside of business hours.
Needful Things in Palouse announced its reopening for Saturday, June 6. Mask and safe distancing will be required. The usual $5 bag sale will begin June 13.
Gifted Grannies in Rosalia has set a June 16 open date. They will allow five customers in at a time and require customers wear masks and practice social distancing.
