Three injured near Rosalia

ROSALIA – Three people were injured and transported to area hospitals from a collision five miles south of Rosalia July 11.

According to a WSP report, a 2000 Chevy Silverado driven by Lawrence Peringer, 19, Oakesdale, at 12:41 a.m. was traveling southbound in Highway 271 near mile post three when Peringer lost control, going into the southbound ditch. Peringer overcorrected, crossing the center line into the northbound lane. The vehicle came to rest in the northbound lane facing southbound.

Peringer, who was reported as not wearing a seatbelt, was taken by Life Flight to Sacred Heart Medical Center. According to the report, he was under the influence at the time of the incident and is being charged with vehicular assault.

The two passengers in the vehicle sustained broken bones and were both transported to Whitman Hospital and Medical Center. Richard Robertson, 24, Kellogg, Idaho, was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision while Zachary Robertson, 21, Kellogg, Idaho, was not.
