ROSALIA - Rosalia Garden Club is pleased to announce the July "Garden of the Month" winner Lisa Kuchne.
Chairman Laura Fulton placed the sign in Kuchne's garden July 1. Kuchne gave full credit to the previous owner for creating the garden as she has only lived in this location three years. She said she came to visit a cousin and fell in love with the area. Kuchne was the first to admit the garden is a lot of work but the reward of its beauty is worth every aching muscle. She loves the peace and tranquility it brings to her and those who visit her garden. She keeps inspired and motivated by the encouragement of her neighbors. She also has two little helpers, her dogs Willow and Porsche who sometimes help the neighbors do gardening also. Thirteen roses are in the front flower beds with lots of perennials. The roses are all on their own roots which makes them hardier for this area.
Kuchne, although retired, finds time from gardening to volunteer for two local organizations, Rosalia Chamber of Commerce and the Battle Days Organization Committee. She loves the small town and is truly honored to have her garden be chosen for "Garden of the Month."
Rosalia GC members remind the next deadline for nominating a garden for August is due July 25.
