Vehicle prowl arrest

COLFAX — A 17-year-old boy was arrested July 23 for vehicle prowl.

According to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office log, the reporting party found the juvenile breaking into his vehicle and held him at bay until deputies arrived. The Sheriff’s Office was covering Colfax night shifts due to staff shortage.

The juvenile, whose name has yet to be released, was taken into custody and transported to Martin Hall juvenile detention center, records show.

He has been charged with two counts of vehicle prowl, third-degree theft, second-degree theft and minor exhibiting.
