Pullman Wish recipient raises Make-A-Wish funds

A Pullman girl born with a congenital heart defect has organized a lemonade stand to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation for the third year in a row.

Shay Connell had her own wish granted in 2017 to meet the cast of her favorite show. Since then, she and her wish-granting volunteer and family have organized a lemonade stand and bake sale each year to raise funds for others to receive their wishes. The two sales raised more than $11,000. This year's goal is to raise $3,000.

The lemonade and baked good stand will be on the corner of Center St. and Finch Way Thursday, Aug. 20, 2 to 6 p.m....
