Doris L. Brown, mother and mother-in-law of Bob and Norma Schultz of Colfax passed away August 9, 2020, in Whitman Hospital & Medical Center, Colfax. She was 102. Graveside services will be held in Nampa, Idaho.

Doris was born September 11, 1917, in Twin Falls, Idaho, and moved to Nampa, Idaho, when she was a baby. Her parents and siblings enjoyed a country life during the depression. Her family memories were many and filled with love.

She graduated from Nampa High School in 1936 and met her future husband Walton Brown at a farm festival. They were married June 25, 1937, and farmed south of Nampa where they raised their two children on the farm. Doris was active in the Bennett community. She loved to dance. She was a doting mother and loved to have her grandchildren near her. All the family enjoyed her famous dinners with lots of good food. One of her great-grandsons sent her a thank you note, after he had stayed, with “keep up the good cooking” written.

After her husband passed away in 2004, she spent the winters in the Schultz home near Colfax and made friends in daughter Norma’s various activities, including the Plymouth Congregational Church. Norma, Bob and Doris had many RV trips together. Doris also was an honorary member of their Motor Home Club.

Doris was an amazing and sweet person and lived alone in her Nampa home until age of 101. She moved to Colfax just over a year ago to live with Norma and Bob.

She is survived by her daughter, Norma (Bob) Schultz; two sisters; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and three siblings.
