Chief Timothy Fire management turned back

WAWAWAI ROAD—State response pulled off the the Chief Timothy Fire Aug. 19, turning management back to Whitman County Fire District 14. The local district will continue to monitor the fire area which has been 100% contained.

According to the state incident team, the fire burned approximately 1,400 acres about five miles west of Clarkston in the Snake River canyon. Crews completed the reinforcement of control lines by extinguishing the few remaining hot spots within 100 feet of the fire control line....
