ROSALIA—Three men were booked into Whitman County Jail Monday morning after Whitman County Deputies responded to calls of a fight in Rosalia.

Christopher Thornton, 20, and Shawn Thornton, 51, were both booked for assault fourth degree. Bobby Robbins, 34, of Malden, was booked on charges of assault second degree, attempted assault second degree and assault fourth degree.

According to documents filed in Superior Court, Robbins was under the influence of alcohol when he and the other two men stopped at the home of his ex-girlfriend and confronted her boyfriend. According to the report, a fight broke out after Robbins exited his vehicle with a knife and approached the boyfriend. Multiple people were allegedly assaulted by the three men, including one who received cuts on his arm from Robbin’s knife.

The fight dispersed before officers arrived. The ex-girlfriend presented text messages from Robbins of a manner threatening the boyfriend, including some sent after the fight threatening further action.

When Robbins was booked into the jail, his cell phone was seized along with a knife that allegedly had blood on it that appeared to be fresh, according to the report.

Robbins was scheduled for preliminary appearance in Superior Court Monday afternoon. Charges against Thornton and Thornton were filed in District Court.
