Nine students receive Innovia scholarships

WHITMAN COUNTY—Nine Whitman County students were among those awarded 119 scholarships totaling $250,259 to students throughout Eastern Washington and North Idaho for the 2020-2021 school year.

In Colfax, the funds are awarded through the Colfax Schools Foundation in the Clarence Hines Fund Scholarship and the Melvin & Josephine Ripley and Sabina Schreiber Scholarship. Gunnar Aune, Cole Baerlocher, Caden Brown, Kaitlyn Cornish, Nicholas Klaveano and Skylre Sakamoto-Howell all received at least one of those scholarships for $1,000 each.

St. John-Endicott High School students Gavin Parrish and Johnathan Logen each received the Annie Maria Hitchings scholarship for $1,300 and $649, respectively.

Alexis Walters-Gilchrist of Lamont received the Wilson Farm/Mondovi Grange scholarship for $1,000.
