Serving Whitman County since 1877
Charlotte Louella Reeves, age 70, went to be with God and her partner on August 20, 2020. Charlotte was born August 28, 1949 to Eugene and Lorna Reeves in Nogales, Ariz. Her father was a truck driver and her mother was a housewife.
Charlotte grew up much of her life in the Moscow, Idaho, area and graduated from high school there. Charlotte had many different jobs. Her most outstanding, in her mind, was that she made the best omelets ever served at Allen's Resturant while employed there.
Charlotte loved life to the fullest. She and her long time partner, Tim Birr, would often BBQ on the back of his pickup truck parked in the alley behind their apartment. I, Donna Brost, always enjoyed their BBQ's as much as they did while living next to them. They would turn on a radio to country music and sing at the top of their lungs as the smoke from the BBQ came over the back fence! They truly enjoyed life together. And both will be missed by many.
Charlotte loved to cook. Cooking was a way of life for her. Friends say she made the best chocolate cake ever. She liked to make tacos and other foods.
Charlotte collected many things but clocks and Betty Bopp seemed to be her favorites. Going in to care for her and give her meals the last few months was a joy. Her long time friend, Rob Starett, cared for her, shopped for her and helped as much as he could after Tim's death. Charlotte lost a lot of sparkle in her eyes once Tim was gone. She still enjoyed having a beer on our patio once in a while.
Charlotte is survived by two sons, Greg of Pullman, Wash., and Shane of Belvedere, Ill. Memorials are suggested to the Thrifty Grandmother's Shop or the Cancer Society. There will be no service for Charlotte. A memorial dinner will be held at a later date.
Bruning Funeral Home is caring for the family.
