Nearly $1 million for Pullman airport

PULLMAN-The Pullman/Moscow Regional Airport has been awarded a $951,779 grant from the FAA. The Airport Improvement Program grant will be used to construct a terminal building. The federal funds are part $300 million granted to airports nationwide. In Washington state, the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport was the only other airport to receive Airport Improvement Program funding.

Airports are entitled to a certain amount of Airport Improvement Program funding each year, based on passenger volume. If their capital project needs exceed their available entitlement funds, then the FAA can supplement their entitlements with discretionary funding.

The Airport Improvement Program airport grant program funds airport infrastructure projects such as runways, taxiways, airport signage, airport lighting, and airport markings.
