Series: Crime Briefs | Story 30

PULLMAN—A case involving a calf that was taken, then returned to the WSU Knott Dairy Farm will not be tried. According to the documents filed in Whitman County Superior Court Sept. 10, a dairy employee saw a white male return a calf to the calf pen. Allegedly, the male had taken the calf to use as a mascot in his fraternity’s composite photo. According to the police report, the male did not have authorization to use the animal and was arrested for burglary and later released on his own recognizance.

The case was exonerated Sept. 14.
