Palouse Pathways event set for high school students

COLFAX–Palouse Pathways, a local non-profit providing resources around higher education, is hosting an “Honors Fair” from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday Sept. 30. This is the fifth year Palouse Pathways is hosting the event. This event will be virtual, due to the Pandemic, and will be accessible via a Zoom link.

This year, representatives from the honors colleges and programs at the University of Washington, University of Idaho, Washington State University, Boise State University, Eastern Washington University, Central Washington University, Western Washington University, Portland State University, Idaho State University and University of Utah will all be present at the event.

Honors colleges and programs provide an opportunity for high-achieving students to complete rigorous, academically-enriching curriculum within a large institution. Students take honors courses to meet core requirements; then complete university-wide classes in their major. Students must apply and be accepted into the honors program at their respective institution, and can do so as high school seniors while applying for college admission. There is usually no additional cost, in fact honors students may qualify for additional scholarships.

The event is free and open to all interested high school students (Freshman-Seniors) and their families from the Palouse, LC Valley and other communities in Central Idaho and Eastern Washington.

Palouse Pathways is a community organization dedicated to providing college and career resources and information for families on the Palouse. Email palousepathways@gmail.com for more information or visit our website, http://www.palousepathways.org.
