Series: Crime Briefs | Story 35

COLFAX—A Spokane man has been summoned for alleged crimes in July which included using a stolen credit card to purchase and steal items from Folsom Ace in Colfax.

Two charges of identity theft and one charge of theft in the third degree were filed against Kelby Krause in Whitman County Superior Court Sept. 21. Krause has been identified as the second man sought by Whitman County Sheriff’s Office in early July. The two allegedly stole a credit card from a car in Lewiston and used it to purchase some items from Ace in Colfax while also taking other items without paying. When the two suspects attempted to use the card at Rosauers, it was declined.

With the help of leads, Facebook and witnesses, law officials were able to identify Krause and the other man, Tyler Green. Charges were filed against Green July 22. He pleaded not guilty and his jury trial is scheduled for Oct. 12.

Preliminary hearing has been set for Krause Oct. 9.
