Traffic stop nets meth, fentanyl

COLFAX—Two Clarkston people were booked into Whitman County jail after a traffic stop near Red Wolf Bridge resulted in the discovery of narcotics.

Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped the for a non-working brake light and the passenger not wearing a seat belt. According to the police report, deputies observed a glass pipe in the center console the driver allegedly confirmed was a meth pipe. During a search of the vehicle, deputies allegedly found methamphetamine and fentanyl.

The driver, Cory Wilkinson, 36, was booked on an alleged charge of possession of methamphetamine. The passenger, Mary Davis, 27, was booked on an alleged charge of possession of fentanyl. According to the report, both people arrested attested the drugs were not Wilkinson’s.

Both were scheduled for preliminary appearances in Whitman County Superior Court this morning.
