Serving Whitman County since 1877
On Sunday, Sept. 27, the Malden/Pine City Gun Club held a benefit trap shoot to help a longtime member, Todd Deckard, who lost his home in the Labor Day fire.
A total of 79 shooters from as far away Metaline Falls, Dryden, and beyond showed up and approximately $4,000 was raised. Originally, the shoot was an annual fundraiser to support club activities, for which the clubhouse was spared in the fire.
Representatives from Wilber-Ellis also came out and catered the event, splitting their $750 proceeds with Deckard and Malden/Pine City Relief Fund. Another donation came from Palouse Empire Pest Control.
