COLFAX — A Pullman woman was arrested Sunday after allegedly attempting to steal from Rosauers Supermarkets.
Julianna Steinburg, 23, was arrested for second-degree theft (shoplifting) by police following a Washington State Patrol traffic stop.
According to Police Chief Bruce Blood, dispatch received a call at 3:30 p.m. Sunday from Rosauers employees saying they observed a shoplifter at the 632 N. Main St.
Employees were able to get the license plate number of the suspect’s vehicle, he said.
“The state patrol was coming into town and got in right behind (the car),” he said. “We confirmed the plate number; we authorized the state patrol to stop them.”
The store had surveillance images of Steinburg allegedly stealing items, Blood said, noting he went to the store to confirm the details with employees.
“They trespassed her,” he said. “I cited and released her for theft.”
