NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Whitman County Commissioners have set the date of Monday, December 21, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., and to be continued to 6:00 p.m. the same evening, in their Chambers, Courthouse, Colfax, Washington, for proposed amendment to Whitman County Zoning Ordinance to include Chapter 19.64 – Marijuana and associated changes to Chapters 19.03, 19.06, 19.10, 19.15, 19.16, 19.20, 19.30 and 19.31.

Any person may appear and be heard for or against this issue.

Remote participation is available for attending the Commissioners’ meetings. Due to COVID-19 all public meetings of the Whitman County Commissioners are closed to in-person attendance. We encourage staff and the general public to participate at: https://zoom.us/j/250921172.

The Palouse Conservation District is pleased to announce an opportunity to contribute to conservation and your community by serving on the Board of Supervisors. Supervisors are public officials who direct the activities of the conservation district. Although they serve without compensation, they are eligible to be reimbursed for appropriate expenses. A mail-in election for a board seat on the Palouse Conservation District will be held on February 09, 2021 at 1615 NE Eastgate, Suite H Pullman, WA 99163. Registered voters who reside within the Conservation District boundary are eligible to vote. Candidates must be registered voters residing in the conservation district, and may be required to own land or operate a farm. The candidate filing deadline is January 09, 2021 at 4:00 PM. Pioneer Telephone Company participates in the federal Lifeline program. This program lowers the monthly cost of phone or internet service by providing a discount to eligible low-income customers. The current discount rate is $5.95 to $9.25 per month, depending on the service, and is available for one telephone or one broadband service per household.

To qualify, subscribers must have an income of 135% or less than the federal poverty guidelines, or must participate in at least one of the following federal assistance programs:

- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
